Contest to Give Half Off BODY WORLDS Vital Admission to College Students
Students enrolled at any accredited South Carolina college or university can now visit the South Carolina State Museum Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/scstatemuseum and vote in the “College Week” contest for a chance to give all students at their school half off regular combo admission (general museum admission & BODY WORLDS Vital) during museum college week February 19-23.
The voting period is now open and ends at midnight ET on February 15. The school that gathers the most votes during the contest period will win the half-off discount for all its currently enrolled students over age 18 who possess a valid student ID. The museum will select two winners; one from the large school category and one from the small school category. Division I includes colleges and universities with enrollment of more than 5,000 students. Division II contains colleges and universities with fewer than 5,000 students.
Voters simply go to the State Museum’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/scstatemuseum, click on the College Week Contest tab and cast your ballot. Eligible students may vote as often as they wish, but only once per 24-hour period.
BODY WORLDS Vital is the largest exhibition ever presented by the State Museum. The exhibit opened November 13 and runs through April 15, 2012 with 6,500 square feet of real human bodies, organs and systems assembled to teach guests how best to take care of their bodies and live longer, healthier and happier lives.
BODY WORLDS Vital is open to the public in the State Museum’s Blockbuster Gallery. Admission is $11 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and $7 for ages 3-12, in addition to general museum admission. South Carolina students in groups are admitted for $5. Tickets can be purchased, and information can be found, on the Museum’s Web site: http://www.scmuseum.org.
